Amanda had her first prenatal appointment with the OB nurse today and everything went great! They first did an ultrasound to determine the baby's due date and how far along Amanda is. Matt was there too and was stunned most of the time! :) We were both amazed at seeing this little baby being formed and it's heart beating - you can't put those emotions in words. Our "little peanut" as we refer to him/her (since that is what it looks like right now on the ultrasound) is due on November 17th. It is 1.4 centimeters long and has a heartbeat of 162 which the technician said is exactly what it should be. Amanda will be 8 weeks pregnant on Saturday. The OB nurse then went over a ton of information about the whole process, things to watch for, eating habits, medications, etc. We got a little gift bag to take home. :) Amanda's next appointment is on April 27th in three weeks. At this time, she will see one of the doctor's to have her overall health evaluated and have a pelvic exam. The next ultrasound is done at 20 weeks at which time they can hopefully determine the gender. Well, I think that about covers everything. We are so happy that God has blessed us and that the results today were excellent so far! Continue to pray for Amanda as fatigue is a constant struggle and that God would continue to protect and grow the baby!
